HBFF 2024 STUDENT FILM, SCRIPT AND PHOTOGRAPHY  SUBMISSIONS

1. You can choose your own theme across any genre.
You can also submit films under these themes if you prefer:

* My favourite Seashell.
* Why does time slow down when I look at the classroom clock… and how can I speed it up?
* If my pet could talk and give me advice, what would they say, and would I act on it?
* What are the social implications for re-cycling an unwanted Secret Santa present – will I be ostracised? Will I feel guilty?
* I am secretly building a spaceship in my garage with my geeky friends – working towards lift off. My jealous brother has other ideas.
* I grow vegetables in my backyard to help feed my family, but the insects and birds keep eating them. It’s us or them, and I’m in a moral dilemma.

2. Submission Guidelines for student films up to 18:
Films with excessive violence, nudity or excessive coarse language will not be accepted. Films must adhere a G or PG rating. If you are unsure, then consult with your teacher.

3. Short Film Length:
Your short film can have a duration of 40 minutes or less.

4. Submission Fees:
As we are entirely self-funded – there are currently submission fees for students: $15. If you are low on funds ask your teacher if they can help source funding from your school, commercial sponsors and donations.

5. How Do I Enter And When Is The Deadline?
Create your film and submit via Film Freeway by 6 September 2024.
